There are a number of ways that center stone
diamonds are put in their settings.

Prongs.
The most popular method is with prongs.
Setting with prongs allows the diamond to be set securely,
and at the same time allows light to penetrate
the diamond from all directions.
This has been the preferred method of setting ever since
Tiffany's perfected the prong setting at
the beginning of the 20th Century.
Round diamonds are usually set with 4 or 6 prongs
and other shapes according to their contour.

Bezel.
Bezel Set is when there is metal all around the diamond.
This was very popular up until the start of the 20th Century.
Today's Bezel settings tend to reflect a more modern style.
I recommend it when setting a larger diamond of lesser quality.
The light won't reflect in the stone as much as if it were set with prongs
and therefore will not highlight the flaws as much.

Half Bezel.
The name pretty much speaks for itself.

The Solitaire.
The Solitaire is definitely the most popular
style engagement ring.
You really can't go wrong
with the classic look that a solitaire gives you.
Sometimes a diamond just speaks for itself,
and the solitaire is the ideal quiet, unassuming stage.

Our solitaire rings are hand-crafted
to perfectly suit your diamond and your taste.
Whether you want the diamond set high or low,
4 prongs or 6 prongs, is entirely up to you.
